Spend your summer practicing yoga under the olive trees amidst the stunning scenery of Maremma, Tuscany. "Centro il Risveglio," a charming farmhouse from the early 19th century, will be your home, treating you to delicious, healthy, and regional meals, along with holistic treatments. Here, you can fully embrace the chance to rest and reset, find community or solitude, and deepen your understanding of yoga—and ultimately, yourself.
Look forward to dynamic and gentle yoga classes held outdoors under the shade of olive trees or in the fully equipped yoga shala. When things get sweaty, you can jump straight into the pool—maybe even spend entire afternoons there with a good book!
Irene and David, who live at the retreat center with their young daughter, create a warm, family atmosphere and are always available to help plan guided hikes or excursions to nearby attractions. Explore the beach at Castiglione della Pescaia (40 km away), Maremma Regional Park (30 km), or the Terme di Saturnia, one of the oldest thermal baths in Tuscany. The waterfalls here allow water from the Saturnia springs to cascade over natural thermal fields, offering a truly unique and beautiful sight.
At the "Il Risveglio" Retreat, we welcome all levels of yoga experience. All you need is an open mind and the courage to step out of your comfort zone from time to time.
With a small group of participants (8–12), we ensure that each yogi receives ample attention and feels safe and supported within the group.
Instruction is offered in both German and English. If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to take time for yourself and dive deep into your yoga practice—this is your sign!

As an actress for theater and film, I was always deeply engaged with body, movement, and voice as ways to express myself. After spending several years in London working intensively in physical theater and performance, I returned to Vienna in 2020 and realized something was missing: balance and a respectful relationship with body and mind—things I had always set aside to keep pushing forward in the hamster wheel of life.
Since 2022, I have been teaching full-time at various yoga studios in Vienna. I expanded my knowledge through multiple trainings and eventually discovered Awakening Yoga, a Hatha Vinyasa practice system that emphasizes functional movement and mobility. This truly inspired me to incorporate playfulness, strength-based training, and mobility work into my classes, preparing students not only for the yoga practice itself but also for the physical and mental challenges of daily life.
I look forward to sharing different aspects of my training with you and supporting you on your journey on the yoga mat—no matter what stage of your yoga practice you’re currently in!

Meals are served on the spacious terrace in front of the house, where a gentle breeze can be enjoyed even in the summer. Il Risveglio treats guests to three daily buffets featuring traditional Tuscan specialties made from seasonal, organic, and locally sourced (0km!) ingredients, with vegetarian and vegan options. A picnic in the olive grove is also planned—truly the cherry on top!
The meals are prepared with organic, seasonal, and local ingredients. Il Risveglio uses fresh fruits and vegetables, freshly ground einkorn flour, and wholemeal flours. The chefs create traditional Tuscan dishes, balancing authenticity with minimal gluten and sugar.
Il Risveglio is not only a beautiful place to unwind but also a production site for olive oil and the cosmetic line Maremma Officinalis, which uses only regional, raw materials from the surrounding area.
Irene offers a range of on-site services, from holistic massages to workshops on natural skincare (not included in the retreat price).

A swimsuit for the pool or beach is essential, along with protection from the Italian summer sun: sunscreen, hats, etc.
Check in/Out Time
The retreat begins on August 26th at 6 pm with a Welcome Circle. You are welcome to arrive anytime during the day, and if you’re running late, just let us know so we know to expect you later!
The Closing Circle will be held on August 30th after the evening practice. I will also offer a yoga class on the morning of August 31st at 8 am, but if you need to leave earlier, that’s absolutely fine!
What yoga style will be taught?
In the mornings, we will practice a dynamic yoga class (75 minutes) in the style of Vinyasa Flow, offering variations for all levels to both challenge and ground you. In the evenings, we’ll take time for a restorative Yin practice (60 minutes), focusing on pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation to wind down and enjoy a relaxing evening.
